Basic Reports

Typically, L’âne saves all historic sales information in its dataset. This historic information is useful for determining trends and simply referencing old sales. Additionally, the historic information can be useful for auditing. (this paragraph needs fleshed out)
All of the reports use the XML Reporter. XHTML reports should then be viewed with a web browser. Receipt printer reports can be printed to the local receipt printer with the LanePOS/tests/xmlprinter-tester.t tool.

Financial Reports
Financial Reports correspond to a cash register’s X and Z report. As L’âne keeps all sales information, there is not a direct X or Z report: Reports are specified for a time period (most commonly) and are always available.
financial-summary.xml
XML Reporter’s financial-summary.xml includes information similar to most financial reports. It includes XHTML formatting information, so one should view this report in a web browser.
register-report-daily.xml
This report includes the same information as #financial-summary.xml but is formatted to print on the terminal’s receipt printer. register-report-daily.xml
